Michael Barry Que's "Negatives to Positive" Send-Off Dance Concert

It is a happy start of the New Year for UP Dance Company! We are proud to announce that senior member, Michael Barry Arbas Que will be participating at the 2018 Yokohama Dance Collection Competition I this coming February 10 and 11, 2018 in Japan. His contemporary dance piece, “Negatives to Positive” has been selected as one of the finalists out of 106 applicants from nine countries for the Yokohama Dance Collection- Competition I. Performing Michael Barry Que’s piece are UPDC senior members, AL Frederick Abraham and Mark Lentejas Robles

In celebration of the start of blessed year and to support "Negatives to Positive" in the upcoming competition, we invite you to a SEND-OFF PERFORMANCE that will feature works of Michael Barry Que and Ma. Elena Laniog-Alvarez. Angella Betina Carlos (Abbey Carlos), an alumna of UPDC together with Guang Ming Dance Project will grace us as guest performers. The show will be on JANUARY 9, 2018, 7PM at the UP COLLEGE OF MUSIC DANCE STUDIO, University of the Philippines Diliman. It is a "Pay-what-you-can" event and any amount will be valuable to us. Your support and presence will surely inspire and boost our morale in our desire to make an impact in this prestigious festival and competition.

["Negatives to Positive" is a first prize winner of the Wifibody.ph New Choreographers Competition, organized by the Contemporary Dance Network-Manila in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Japan Foundation-Manila held at CCP on August 2016. The Yokohama Dance Collection is an annual contemporary dance festival held in Yokohama, Japan. This year’s program will feature cross-disciplinary artists active on the global stage, newly created and restaged works by emerging and leading artists in Japan and overseas. Included in this festival is the Yokohama Dance Collection- Competition I, where “Negatives to Positive” was chosen as a finalist.]
