Parisii String Quartet Conducts Workshop

The Parisii String Quartet from France, composed of  Arnaud Vallin (1st violin), Doriane Gable (2nd violin), Dominique Lobet (viola), and Jean-Philippe Martignoni (cello), conducted a half-day workshop to the students of the Strings and Chamber Music Department last June 9, 2014. The quartet started with an open forum and then followed by four simultaneous master classes. Bowed students from the department such as violinists Chino Soberano, Janine Samaniego, Marian Mayuga, Eunice Livioco; violists Emlyn Ponce, Christine Laron, Micah James Sanchez, Lovely Masaquel; and cellists Enrico Tuazon, Patrick Espanto, Joseph Hernandez, and Celyn Ponce were among who played in the master classes.


The Parisii String Quartet were formed in 1983; all the members graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. They won several international competitions and have performed in major concert halls as well as festivals around the world. The quartet regularly toured throughout Europe, the US, Asia, South America, and Africa. Parisii String Quartet came to the Philippines to perform a concert as part of their Southeast Asian tour.
