She is also the current Program Manager of AdventHealth Orlando Music Therapy Program for children and cancer patients. The two-hour lecture focused on giving the music students, alumni, and interested participants an overview of medical music therapy practice in the United States, including therapy frameworks, processes, goals and objectives. Clinical musical examples were also discussed and explored. The session ended with the awarding of certificate of appreciation by Dean LaVerne Dela Peña and College Secretary Jocelyn Guadalupe.
Part of the college’s Body, Mind and Music initiative, the series of music and wellness talks are intended to complement the UP music students’ music education as well as to explore the possibilities and applications of music and wellness in the community.
