Crystal Milarose Rodis-Concepcion started the flute at the age of 10. A year later, she was accepted as a scholar at the Philippine High School for Arts (PHSA) under the tutelage of Prof. Enrique Barcelo. In 2003, she participated in the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan, USA and was a Fine Arts Awardee. She graduated With High Honors and as well as class valedictorian. She was also a recipient of the Artistic Excellence award as well as the MARIA scholarship for her college education. During her college years, she was a member of the Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble (SAYOWE) during the years 2005, 2007 and 2008. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of the Philippines and graduated magna cum laude. She completed her Master’s degree in music at the University of Texas Pan-American in Texas, USA. She is also a three-time National Music Competitions for Young Artists (NAMCYA) winner, garnering 1st prize for Woodwinds Category A, 2nd prize for Flute Category B and 1st prize for Flute Category C. She was a former member of the Metro Manila Concert Orchestra (MMCO) and also performs with other orchestras such as the Manila Symphony Orchestra and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Musical Studies at the University of the Philippines.
