Raymond has performed extensively in concert and has essayed lead operatic roles in Manila and in the US. Trained originally as a tenor, he has sung the roles of Alfredo Germont, Don Ottavio, Nemorino, Pinkerton and Romeo, among others. He has performed in productions of Philippine Opera Company, Opera Guild of the Philippines, Tanghalang Pilipino, Dulaang UP, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. In 2012, he debuted as a baritone in concert and opera in Thailand, singing the bass solos of Jean Gilles’ "Requiem" and Joseph Haydn’s "Creation", as well as the role of Presto in a Thai production of Francis Poulenc’s "Les Mamelles de Tireisias".

Raymond has taught Voice at the College of Music Mahidol University in Thailand; at the Silliman University College of Performing and Visual Arts in Dumaguete City; and at Sta. Isabel College in Manila. Apart from UP, he is at present also a member of the Voice faculty of the School of Music of St. Scholastica’s College-Manila, and is a Master Teacher of voice at the Philippine High School for the Arts.

Previous training in Medicine has given Raymond a unique perspective regarding vocal technique and his pedagogical approach is a functional anatomical one. He is frequently invited to give lectures and vocal workshops and it is his personal mission to help spread knowledge and ideas on singing and vocal technique that are sensible and rooted in science.
