Jocelyn Timbol-Guadalupe is assistant professor of music education at the College of Music, University of the Philippines. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education magna cum laude, Master of Music in Music Education, and currently PhD candidate in sociology and anthropology of education (UP). She has taught music in pre-school, elementary, and high school levels in both public and private schools, humanities in liberal arts college, and today teaches music theory for dancers, special project in music education, graduate music education research methods and thesis.

Performances include concerts with Musika Sophia at Abelardo Hall, International Bamboo Organ Festival, Paco Park, and UP Manila Museum of A History of Ideas. Previous research projects include UP College of Music undergraduate theory entrance test standardization in 2012, 2018, and 2020. She has presented music education sociology and anthropology papers in Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Russia, and the USA . Published works include Dictionary of Filipino Musical Terms (co-author, UPCE), Celso Espejo, Lucio San Pedro in Musika Jornal (UPCE), Serenata in Saysay Himig anthology (UP Press), Awek, Timek, Garaw (co-author, UNESCO). As college secretary, she proposed a digitization project for the academic records of the college for archival and possible regression studies.

She has served the Philippine Society for Music Education (president, auditor), Society for Strategic Education Studies (secretary), UPCMAA (VP, secretary), CHED TCCE-TPTE (chair, member), and NCCA national music committee (secretary). She sits as vice-chair of the UP Diliman university committee on academic policies and programs (UC-CAPP) and co-chair of the UP College of Music curriculum and gender committees since 2017.

Her extension project, technical assistance to the Open School Music (OSM), led to the awarding of the Gawad Chancellor for Public Service for OSM and the music education department last 2019. Current research projects focused on community music education include co project leader of the DOST-FPRDI UPCE PNU PSME Bamboo Music Instrument innovation and research program documentation project and member of advisory council for Taytay community music ensembles such as Banda Malaya 1875 and Taytay Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.
