Mr. Solaiman Jamisolamin was a graduate of Bachelor of Music major in classical guitar, under the tutelage of Mr. Lester Demetillo, at the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Music. He finished his Master of Music in Performance majoring in classical guitar under the tutelage of Dr. Angelo Favis at the Illinois State University (ISU). While taking his master’s degree, he was also a full-time graduate teaching assistant at ISU. He served as the president of the Classical Guitar Society at ISU and he was invited as a member of the Society of Pi Kappa Lambda National Honor Society by the Epsilon Chi Chapter.
Mr. Jamisolamin was the founder of the ensemble group Guitar Guild (GuiGuil) for guitar minors, concentrations, extensions, and enthusiasts. He was a volunteer ukulele instructor for the Haemophilia Association for Love and Service (HAPLOS) and the Open School of Music of the UP College of Music. He was also the co-proponent of the Gitara and Awit: Panimulang Klase sa Paggigitara para sa mga Manggagawa ng UP Diliman.
