It is through the program that she learned how to play different indigenous instruments such as the Philippine kulintang and Kalinga instruments, Japanese koto, Indonesian gamelan, Indian sitar, and Chinese erhu in addition to the keyboard and the Middle Eastern darbouka.
In addition, she was chosen by GCAP (Global Call to Action against Poverty) - Philippines in 2007, to undergo training and workshop in the Netherlands to conduct Poverty Requiem, the music for a global campaign to end poverty. In 2014, she fulfilled a residency program of the Cultural Partnership Initiative under the National Theater of Korea in Seoul, South Korea.
Highlights of Musical Experience:
While she enjoys teaching, she loves performing and is currently a member of three different performing groups namely MusiKalinangan Gong and Bamboo Ensemble, Joey Ayala at ang Bagong Lumad, and Brigada, a contemporary Afro-Brazilian percussion group. She has performed in various international music festivals around the world such as the Sarawak Rainforest Music Festival in Malaysia; Diaspora Festival in London; Asian Percussions Festival in Taipei; Jack Daniel’s Music Festival in Singapore; and Asian Music Festival in New Zealand. She also participated in the 2017 ASEAN-Korea Flute Festival through the invitation of National Artist for Music, Dr. Ramon Santos.
