Desiree is currently completing her PhD in Musicology at the UP College of Music. She is also finishing her Fellowship status with the Cecchetti Ballet Society, through the National Ballet Institute's Teacher Training Program in Maryland. Desiree has presented papers "What Variation, Whose Version" (2018), and "Truth in Body, Dance Form and Technology" (2020) in Australia during the RAD conferences Unravelling Repertoire: Histories, Pedagogies and Practices (2018), and Shaping Bodies, Shaping Minds (2020). Her essay was also included in Art Archive 03 "Powerful Move: The Influence of Budots in Philippine Society" (2020). Desiree is interested in dance education and its development, theory, and technique.

As a dance director of DBC-ISAS Conservatory, she has entered students in international ballet examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance and the Cecchetti Ballet Australia from pre-primary level up to advanced 2 level. Desiree has also trained teachers to be accredited with the Royal Academy of Dance and the Cecchetti Ballet Australia. She has also produced full length ballets for students including, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Coppelia, Les Sylphides, and excerpts from Sylvia, Raymonda, and La Bayadere. Desiree has also entered her ballet students in international ballet competitions, specifically at the Lucie Saranova Memorial Awards, a prestigious competition in Australia. She is the founder of Cecchetti Ballet in the Philippines and holds her Licentiate status with the Cecchetti International Classical Ballet Society-Cecchetti Ballet Australia.

During her undergraduate work, Desiree was part of the UP Dance Company and her graduation thesis was "Cracked Nut...Maria Clara's Colonial Dream."
