If you are applying for the Associate in Arts (Music) program, then you also have to also apply for a primary concentration and a secondary concentration track.
As you will notice, the application requirements for a primary concentration in the AA (Music) program and for a major in the Bachelor of Music (BM) program are the same for ALMOST all fields of specialization. One determinant
of an applicant’s eligibility for these academic programs is their success in the UPCA Online.
Keep in mind that undergraduate admission to the UP College of Music involves a three-tiered process where applicants are screened through their UPCA status, the music theory and solfege exams, and departmental

2. Unaccompanied singing of two vocal lines from the pieces attached below while conducting the time signature.

b. One of the lines must be your voice classification (soprano, alto, tenor, or bass).

1. The Keyboard Department is encouraging the applicants who will pass the Theory Placement Exam to do the face-to-face live audition. Applicants who could not come to the face-to-face live audition
due to valid reasons have to do a live-streamed audition. Both modes of audition will be done on July 14, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN in Room 109-A.
2. The detailed schedule of the audition and the details of the live-streamed audition will be sent per e-mail on July 10, 2023.
3. The audition repertoire in Word file shall be sent per e-mail to Prof. Ena Maria R. Aldecoa (eraldecoa@up.edu.ph) on July 11, 2023 with the following details: a) complete name
of the applicant, b) program applied for, c) composer and complete title of each work and duration of each piece.
4. The audition repertoire should have a total duration of 15-30 minutes for undergraduate applicants and 60-minutes for the graduate applicants.
5. All pieces shall be played from memory.
6. The order of performance of pieces shall be at the discretion of the applicant.
Repertoire requirements for AA (primary concentration only) and BM applicants:
1. Scales and arpeggios (major, harmonic, and melodic minor in four octaves) to be chosen from all keys. This requirement will be assigned to the applicant one week before
the audition.
2. One work by J.S. Bach chosen from the Two- or Three-Part Inventions, the 48 Preludes and Fugues, Toccatas, Partitas or the English or French Suites
3. One virtuosic étude chosen from Czerny op. 299 (except nos. 1-5), Chopin (except op. 10 no. 3, op. 10 no. 6 and op. 25 no. 7) Liszt, Rachmaninoff (except op. 33 no. 7, op. 39 no. 2), Scriabin (except
op. 2 no. 1), Prokofiev or Debussy
4. One fast movement of a classical sonata by Haydn, Mozart (except K. 545), Beethoven (except op. 49 nos. 1 & 2) or Schubert
5. A work by a romantic composer or Impressionistic/20th-21st century composer or a Filipino piece

1. Applicants who passed the Music Theory exam and meet the department cut-off can proceed to submit the audition requirements. The requirements are 3 videos, a handwritten essay, and an interview. Music Theory exam passers
will be posted on the UP College of Music website https://music.upd.edu.ph/
2. The three videos and the essay, specified on Tables 1 & 2, must be submitted by uploading them on July 12, 2023 to a Google Drive folder. Share this folder with the Music Education Department email mued.upd@up.edu.ph.
You need to have a google email (Gmail) to be able to do this. July 14, 2023 will be the interview.

1. Eligibility: Preferably, applicants who have acquired five years of intensive training in any of the dance disciplines, like classical ballet, modern/contemporary dance, and jazz
2. Audition procedures:
a. A ballet and contemporary class will be administered by a dance master on the auditions. Prepare a solo variation or contemporary solo routine.
b. Applicants will be asked to write, on the spot, a short essay on the topic “Why Dance and why UP”?
c. Applicants will undergo a panel interview.
